H.E. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, President of the United Republic of Tanzania has sent a Congratulatory Message to the Australian Prime Minister Elect, Rt. Honourable Tony Abbott (MP).
The message reads as follows

AUSTRALIA.
I have received with great joy the news of your election as the 28th Prime Minister of Australia.
On behalf of the Government and people of the United Republic of Tanzania and, indeed, on my own behalf, I wish to extend to you and through you to the Australian Liberal Party our profound congratulations on your momentous victory. Your coalitions' election to lead your great country and its people is a clear testimony of confidence and trust that the people of Australia have to your Party and its coalition partners.
As you prepare to assume office in your new mandate, I wish to assure you of my personal commitment as well as that of the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania, to continue to work closely with you and your Government to further strengthen the excellent bilateral relations that so happily exist between our two countries.
