TOPS FROM DAR-TWANGA PEPETA
DT 72 Olympianhero International NGO is set to hold massive fundraising events in Mombasa and Nairobi to feature African stars Band- Twanga Pepeta from Dar es salaam Tanzania.
The premier events to be dubbed TOPS FROM DAR set for Friday 1st June 2007 at the Safari Park Hotel and Saturday 2nd June at LeVans Park in Nairobi West. On Sunday 3rd June 2007 the action moves to Mombasa’s Black Havana from 2pm to dawn.
The events are to help raise funds for the construction of a healthcare facility centre for paraplegic disabilities to cater for rehabilitation, relaxation and research, to be constructed in Kikambala Mombasa.
The debut concert, to be held on Friday 1st June at Safari Park Hotel, will be attended by ODM-Kenya Presidential candidate Hon. Raila Odinga as Guest Star. Other ODM- Kenya luminaries are also expected to attend.
East Africa’s Star artistes, African Stars Band popularly know as Twanga Pepeta, is expected to hit the stage with bang. Their latest style of ‘Mugongomugongo’ is a must-see-to-be-believed spectacle. The band comprising of more than 20 artists is in high spirits, being the biggest orchestra in the region and all that. Comprising of Hamisi Amigolass band leader, and super vocalists Khalidi Chokoraa , Charles Baba and Ali Choki, Salehe Kupaza among others on the men side. The Ladies include Lady Lwiza Mbutu Nyoni (asst. band leader), plus best belly dancers in East Africa - Aisha Madinda, Lilian Internet and Janet Isimike are among the ladies.
Meanwhile the African Stars Group Chairman and CEO, Mr. Baraka Msiilwa who is crrently in Hong kong doing shopping for the band in readiness for the Kenya tour, said “last time I was in Nairobi with MK (muzki wa Kiafrika) group band in 1992 it was big. This tour, the band will come with pure African magic of Kutwanga and Kupepeta that by the end of the tour the Kenyan audience will no longer be interested any more in Congolese stuff like Koffi, Kanda Bongoman, Werrason etc. Our music is great since it is in Swahili, the fans will understand and interpret easily” said Mr. Baraka.
Dick Tiger Murunga the Chairman/CEO of DT 72 Olympianhero NGO is kindly requesting all Kenyans to turn up in big numbers to support these good cause events in Nairobi and Mombasa. “Every shilling contributed will be spent to help build the Paraplegic centre in Mombasa” said Mr. Murunga who won bronze in Olympics in 1972 and Gold in WBA. Tiger became paraplegic disabled in 2004 after leg muscles became stiff. He is yet to raise 3.5m to attend aquapunture treatment in China.
All roads in Nairobi lead to Safari Park on Friday 1st June to celebrate Madaraka Day in style with Twanga Pepeta band from Dar es salaam and Raila Odinga. On Saturday 1st June the party moves to LeVans Park Westlands. Sunday 3rd June from 2pm till dawn catch the action at the Mombasa Black Havana.
The program is being supported by Space Concepts and Starlight Marketing of Mombasa among many others.

ReplyDeleteanoy hapo juu hujaona yote. Wabongo wana kazi na wanathamini vya watu kuliko vyao. Sio bongo tu hata sehemu hizi tulizoko wanakimbilia kuolewa na wakenya...halafu wanasema Mume wangu mforeigner.....wamesahau kuwa wote tuma foreigner tu hizi na kwetu ni bongo.
