Huyu ndiye bosi mkuu mpya wa Idhaa ya Kiswahili ya BBC Bwana Solomon Mugera ambaye alisema Tido atakumbukwa kwa kuifanya idhaa hiyo ni moja ya idhaa kuu za kiafrika.
''Najua wenzangu hapa mtanipa ushirikiano mkubwa katika kuendeleza na pengine kuiboresha zaidi idhaa yetu ya kiswahili kama mlivyofanya kwa mwenzetu Tido Mhando'' alisema Bwana Mugera katika sherehe za kumuaga Tido na kumkaribisha yeye.
Mkuu huyo mpya wa idhaa ya kiswahili ni mtangazaji wa siku nyingi ambapo kabla ya nafasi hii ya sasa alikuwa ni mtangazaji mkuu wa kipindi maalum cha AFRIKA TOA KAULI YAKO kilichokuwa kikitolewa na idhaa ya kiingereza ya BBC Africa. Bwana Mugera pia amewahi kuwa mtangazaji katika shirika la utangazaji la Kenya KBC kwa miaka mitatu na kabla ya hapo alikuwa ni mtangazaji wa televisheni ya Kenya (Kenya Television Network)
2005 Profile of Solomon Mugera
Solomon is a senior producer with BBC African Productions, which broadcasts programmes in English to Africa.

He is also the presenter of its flagship interactive, radio and online programme Africa, Have Your Say.

Kenyan-born Solomon first joined the BBC with the Swahili service in 1998 as a producer and presenter of its news and current affairs programmes.

He helped create a youth programme called Vijana Leo - Today's Youth, which had a mix of youth-related discussion and music.

Solomon also spent some time working with BBC News Online and BBC English for Africa programmes Focus on Africa and Network Africa.

Solomon helped pioneer the launch of live, interactive debate across the continent with the programme Africa, Have Your Say which began life as Africa Live! in 2002.

It gives listeners across the continent and the world the opportunity to put across their views on a range of issues on BBC radio and internet and is broadcast three times a week.

Solomon says: "I was proud to be given the opportunity to co-ordinate the launch of what is now known as Africa, Have Your Say. The excitement and buzz of that first interactive week of programming is something I will never forget.

"Hearing Africans across the continent and the world reaching out for each other, sharing views and experiences on issues ranging from politics and education to health and business was fantastic."

Before joining the BBC, Solomon worked for three years as a television journalist with the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation and for four years with the Kenya Television Network
