ReplyDeleteThis is another area where your Nikon could excel.
I am not as skilled as you at picking my spot for taking photos, but I know with a little more patience (since the subject is stationary)you could squeeze more from your Nikon in these high-contrast compositions.
This photo was probably taken at high f-number annd probably with a low or medium ISO setting. Hence the underexposure of the dark and overexposure of the sunny parts.
Why not try using light metering (use exposure value lock after measuring light in a dark spot)? Then composing the entire photo using that exposure setting? This will allow more light for the cars without overexposing the foreground(the sunny part)?
These are just my opinions..I would really like to here what you Michuzi have to say about them since you are a seasoned photographer.
BTW I know you have a Nikon cause I can see it in several of your photos...
Again, I like your photos, I am only giving opinion to get a counter opinion from you..that way we both learn...

Exchange of ideas is something we should cherish in this blog at the same time we must strive in commending constructive criticism !Please , my fellow blog members let us make good use of this forum by accepting other people ideas without instigating animosity.
Learning is a process, it doesn't mean that simply because someone is professional in a certain field then he/ she shouldn't be open for new ideas ! That is what we call it being " closed minded ", People with kind of habit are not going to excel to their maximum potential unless they change their mentality of thinking.

ReplyDeletefor this and many other candid shots i use a pocket sony cybershot dsc-200 (7.2 megapixels) that is a point-and-shoot. while tis not an excuse for not getting THE SHOT correctly, i assure u that i merely on a fun-seeking spree with minimum concern over technicalities. that's why i most often miss the bus.

Hivi ni kwanini kandarasi za kujenga mambo muhimu ya kitaifa hawapewi watu wenye uzoefu na uwezo wa kufanya hivyo? Kumbukumbu za baba wa taifa ni muhimu mno kuachiwa kampuni shenzi za ujenzi na makapenta wa hovyo kuzikamilisha! sitashangaa kama nagari haya yatakuwa yamejaa vumbi kwa jinsi "yalivohifadhiwa" katika hayo mabanda! tafadhali tutazame jinsi wenzetu wanavyohifadhi historia yao vizuri katika makumbusho zao nje ya nchi!
