Greetings from the Office of Public Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Dar es Salaam!
If you know English Teachers who:
§ will have completed a bachelor’s degree by June 2008;
§ are between 21-29 years old;
§ have excellent English communication skills
§ speak fluent Kiswahili;§ want to travel to the U.S. and teach a foreign language (Kiswahili) to improve their foreign language teaching skills;
§ have concrete ideas on how to improve English in Tanzania; and
§ are willing to intern with a U.S. higher educational institution to teach and share Tanzanian culture, then please ask them to attend an information session for the Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) Program.
The Fulbright FLTA Program is a U.S. State Department funded internship for Tanzanian English teachers to teach their native Kiswahili for one academic year in the U.S. Candidates will also be required to take classes, participate in activities to showcase Tanzanian culture and work with advisors and international offices on other projects at higher education institutions in the U.S.
There are two information sessions being held at the U.S. Embassy on October 16, 2007.
One is from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon and the other is from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Those who are interested should only attend ONE of the sessions (they are both the same).
Applicants are STRONGLY encouraged to attend the session as the Fulbright Coordinator will be going over what makes a good FLTA application, and answering questions about the program.
For those who cannot attend the sessions, please email paodar@state.gov and visit the website for application instructions. For those who applied last year and were not successful, you are encouraged to apply again this year if you are still eligible, with a brand new application.
Please pass this message on to teachers and students you think would be eligible and interested in this program.
With best wishes,

Watakapokuja mwezi mmoja baadae kucheki e-mail watakuta ishu.
