ReplyDeleteOur ignorance is making others richer
ReplyDeleteDear Editor
I wonder why our ministry of Agriculture and livestock has been so laid back for so long. They have been doing nothing to fight back the flow of foreign food all over our country. Malaysia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India and Thailand are getting rich out of our ignorance! Are we not growing sick of their agriculture products? It is too disgusting!
Our ministry of Agriculture is supposed to be jealous because foreign farmers are getting rich with their maize, wheat and canned food finding their market in our streets while our farmers are staying poor with no one to promote their products. Sometime my curiosity is getting the best of me. Is our ministry really prepared enough with this technology of turning maize into fuel? This process can be the beginning of revolutionary change that could entirely eliminate oil addiction from Arabs States; I do not know how much our ministry is really prepared?
I was hoping our ministry would advise our government to invest in professional faming, ,supplying farmers with modern equipment like tractors, combine harvesters, chemicals, soil and irrigation technicians, promote their products, and helping them to be updated with new technology.
Some of the countries have been highly developed that they grow maize two times a year. They raise enough crops for themselves and have some for export, so why not us? Why is there this lack of self sufficient and export of maize in Tanzania? Do we really have a stable Government which can support farmer’s efforts to introduce new and better technology and abandon basic and primitive method of farming?
Suppose we have Tanzanians living in those countries whose business is to buy defective, spoiled, moldy, and expired food at cheap prices and exporting them to our countries who knows if this bad deal never exist? Do we really know its side effects?
Given the amount of land, the population, and agricultural technicians that we have, it is so shameful for us to keep spending foreign currency buying agricultural products from Bangladesh or Thailand. The rest of the world will view us as weak, lazy, and our brain is working below function level! When will we start fighting back?
We must promote professional farming of maize to satisfy our own grains mills, our needs, and export .we should help our farmers to become rich and self sufficient rather than using foreign foods. We must stop making foreign countries getting rich out of our ignorance and keeping our own farmers in poverty. Wake up Ministry of Agriculture.
Here is a good website that lists many products that we use EVERY DAY that contain carcinogens that is a cancer causing substances http://www.ewg.org/
ReplyDeleteTumesikia mtangazaji wa redio one Moses Justin Papa Mo amefariki dunia. Ni kweli?
ReplyDeleteAsalam Aleykum kaka Micuzi.
ReplyDeleteNarudi kwenye ile picha ya Mh. Rais akipokea ile hundi.
Kuna habari kuwa gazeti la This day wamepotosha picha kumfanya rais aonekane mjinga?
