One of the major problems for many commuters in big cities is traffic jam. I know of commuters who spend almost 3 hours a day, 15 hours a week, 60 hours (7.5 days) a month, 90 days a year and 2.5 years in ten years. Did you get those numbers, 2.5 man-years based on a working day of 8 hours. Is it not a serious issue worth taking a note?
The above problem affects almost every one living in major cities, and I believe you are one of the victims. It can be very frustrating to you if the time you spend in the congestion is not properly used. Just imagine wasting 2.5 man-years on commuting only, Is it not bad? It is.
I repeatedly overhear people complain about the congestion. However, their complaint does nothing to change the situation. To the contrary, the number of cars keeps on growing, at the same time the traffic jam keep extending. Complaints never reduce the number of cars or widen the roads we use. Instead, it leaves us more frustrated and stressed.
Stress negatively affects our health and thinking system. This in the long run is not helpful at all. Therefore, it is significant to find the best use of time for the time of the traffic jam. If you complain and you don't noticeably change anything positively, you are misspending your time and the time of the person you are complaining to.
What you need to do is to stop complaining and to start doing something constructive; Taking advantage of the traffic jams The best thing to do is to put into positive use the time you are spending on traffic jam.
There are various things you can do, but here are few ideas you can put into usage; Drivers If you are driving a car, I suggest you listen to educational audio's CDs or tapes.
My recommendation is for you to stock plenty of audio's CDs that educate you on how to improve your business or ably assist you achieve your personal goals. Instead of listening to radio all the time, I strongly suggest to listen to educational tapes and CDs as a good source of knowledge. I have a lot of home business course study audio tapes, which I listen most of the time when I am driving. They have proven to be very valuable companions for me and as source of my marketing and business knowledge. Passengers
If you happen to be a frequent passenger of a bus or small car, I suggest you carry with you a book to read. A business person or someone aspiring to start a business should always carry a business or personal development book. For the reasons pointed above, books provide a lot of useful knowledge information that will guide you towards achieving business and personal success.
Other tools that you can carry are CD player, Walkman or I-pod.
Use those tools to store FREE e-books and audio newsletters, which you can easily download from the Internet. In this regards, I propose you buy an I-pod. They are getting cheaper with time. Making money Opportunities with Traffic jams are endless.
You can use them to promote your products or service by distributing fliers to the commuters in buses or small cars. Hire people to distribute your fliers in the morning when people are going to the office and in evening when they go back home. Some of the customers are doing with much success,
Mdau Felix Mganjila.

interesting argument...but have u ever wondered how many hours u spend doin other useless things? Such as bloggin? If u average everything we do over a lifetime...it will always make for an astronomical figure...for example...u sleep for eight hrs a day...do that over a lifetime...hw many years do u spend sleepin? isn't it a 1/3 of ur lifetime sleepin? so i guess for most people its over 20 yrs of sleeping. What about the time u spend eating, going to the bathroom, having sex, etc? I like your argument in trying to convince people to use their time more positively...but using average figures is just another marketing strategy to try and over-sell your ideas. You are trying to make people think they are losing too much time but in reality...its life. Are we really wasting it? Maybe thats how we should all live? What about listening to the good old radio and having a laugh instead of being overly concerned about making money? Don't you think i-pod tunes you out of the environment around you by always having your headphones on? Just a thought. But i like ur idea...its very good. Lucky i don't live in a congested city.

Good ideas but I think this was utterly copied from other people/country with different environment and now trying to pass it to the people in TZ with less or no research.
ReplyDeleteHow can you tell drivers to listen to educational audio on a traffic light stop? aint no attention needed to that? did you consider the accident rate in tz? yet to add another distraction?
For people commuting using public transportation, if you get lucky enough to get a sit you will have people leaning whole over you with all kind of body odor, is that the right time to concentrate with your finance book?
how much time people spend in a office during morning hours discussing udaku before going to the cafeteria to get bfast? could that be turned to a useful time?
what about masanga time after work? should that be turned to be useful time?
I understand you're trying to sell your ideas for some reason but as reckless as drivers are right now adding poor traffic laws enforcement do you really think your ideas will be ideal to tz???
