We are pleased to announce we have just received information about a new program for Master's or Doctoral studies in the United States beginning in 2009, for candidates in the following fields: English, English as a Second/Foreign Language or Linguistics.

This is a special fellowship under the regular Fulbright Foreign Student Program known as the Fulbright Junior Staff Development Program (JSD) and follows the same guidelines.

Eligible Tanzanians resident in Tanzania who at minimum have a Bachelor's degree, two year's experience, excellent grades and communication skills and the endorsement of their institutions should check our website for more details, and apply by next week using our online application.

Deadline for receipt of applications is September 1 and interviews will be conducted mid-September.

We apologize for the short turn-around time and will work closely with final candidates to improve applications before the final submission.

Incomplete applications will not be considered.

The program is open to Tanzanian English teachers resident in Tanzania who have a Bachelor's degree, are between 21-29 years old, and whose native language is Kiswahili.

Successful candidates spend an academic year taking classes to improve their English and language teaching methodology, while teaching Kiswahili at post-secondary institutions in the United States .

Complete applications are due in October.
