I always ignored the emails that do the rounds warning pple to watch out for unfortunate incidences.... well, here is my story:
I (mary mwithiga) was shoping at a supermarket in town (Imalaseko in Dar town) and as i carried on, i lingered over some cute looking candles that seemed they'd look good in my house... little did i know that some dude was up to no good!
He was smartly dressed. He seemed interested in the same candles and was busy smelling one when he drew my attention to smell the same... and as he took a step towards me, holding out the candle for me to smell, while telling me how nice it smells etc... i was hit by a strong/pungent smell of alcohol!
I stepped back immediately cos the last thing i needed was to deal with a drunkard! I asked him if he worked at the supermarket and he said yes.I was very disgusted with that particular store if that's the calibre of attendants they work with! I immediately thought to confirm if the dude worked there and was told he is not an employee.
By then, My heart started racing at a dangerous pace! I was prompted to pray quietly in my heart to God, to help me not loose consciousness and to keep me safe!My knees were getting weaker and weaker and hands shaking and my head lighter and lighter.
I tried to tell 3 other persons that "that dude over there" is up to nogood and they all gave me that stare like "duh!" anyways, i got my phone out and called for help from my office as its just around the corner.
All the while "that dude" made sure i was always in sight... (i guess waiting for when the drug would take full effect and then he'd pounce on his helpless victim...) Help arrived in good time and i was taken to hospital. Luckily, i hadn't sniffed lethal quantities as i stepped back very very quickly!
So kindly be careful who you talk to even as you do your shopping ladies and probably gentlemen too.
You are probably asking what would such a dude do? He'd wait till you are strength wears out and you loose consiousness then he'd pretend you guys were together and he'd even hire a cab and take you to an unknown destination while robbing and God knows whatever else they would have in their filthy mind to do...
Today being Wednesday, withdrawal symptoms are still evident, what with an unexplainable headache and drowsiness and excessive fatigue etc.
WARN YOUR LOVED ONES...!
God is Great. He saved me from the claws of the enemy.
Praise His Name Forever!

ReplyDeletePole Martha kwa yaliyokukuta dear.
ReplyDeletePole Martha kwa yaliyokukuta dear.
ReplyDeletePole sana dada!!!...Mshukuru Mungu kakuepusha, those guys are dangerous!
Culture of fear is very dangerous sisi tulipokuwa wadogo tulikuwa twaambwiwa kuwa tukienda kucheza na kuogelea njoro tutakutana na mumiani, that fear is still with me.

ReplyDeleteSister Mary. I am so sorry for ur ordeal. I am glad to hear that you are doing fine. But is this the real thing or just one of those viral emails we are receiving everyday.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds so fishy to me.
My questions to you are these:-
As you said you work around the corner and glad your co workers were there before the things turned more ugly, did you point to them the person who did that to you? I am sure he was still there as you said he made sure you were in his sight. You could just point this to your co workers before you headed to the hospital.
Again after you were discharged from the hospital did you collect your paperwork and report this to the police? If you still remember the place, I am sure the candle guy knows that person. If he was there sniffing his candles he must be one of his ring fellow. So if this incidence real happened to you and you reported to the police you will serve more people from this.
Also if that person was sniffing the same candle and you happened to just get a glimpse of it how comes he was no where near to loose his mind as you? Does the poison fumes or alcohol poison stuff work on some people and not to other people? I think he would be more intoxicated than you if you saw him lovely smelling that candle before he wanted you to do the same.
The last thing is the tone of your email. I know Tanzanian people don't use the word DUDE to convey their messages around and if you are a foreigner I know you are one of these TX. If you are a TX I know you are well off educated...I never heard an educated person use this word DUDE. So many virus emails or scam emails from West and Central African use this word. Your story loses all its credibility by using this word to me.
Please I am not calling you a liar and this could be one of those living truth example or urban legend but instead of you taking so much of your time writing this, if you real want to help people report this incident to the police and show them the area that happened and you will save so many people.
We have so many things to worry and spare us from this if it didn't real happened to you. We real appreciate the information like recently one posted about Mlalakua bridge area but if it is just for the sake of awareness don't use the real name of the place that you claimed this happened to you.

ReplyDeleteAm very sure that it doesn't cost a thing kuichukua scenario hii kama one source of wareness...Ila there are few weak links from the story, does the sis mean that no one at the mentioned supermarket took any action since they were approached to confirm as to whether the guy was one of the employees na wakajibu no! Kwa hiyo they let the matter rest since he was not their employee?! What is the point of having guards within their premises, for shoplifters?
ReplyDeleteAnywayz people, whichever way the story will take us, it is still important to be carefully....
