The Deputy  Tanzania High Commissioner to the UK Mr. Chabaka Kilumanga with a  book he received from Aloyce Fungafunga (on his right) of the Dogodogo Centre at Tanzania High Commission Office, London.   Kasia Parham on his left), the Spouse of the former British High Commissioner to Tanzania, compiled the book titled “Tanzania Street Children tell their Stories”. The book is a collection of stories told by the boys from the Dogodogo Centre, as part of their English Language Program at Kigogo home.

The Dogodogo Centre Street Children Trust was established in 1992 by Maryhood Jean Pruitt in growing number of vulnerable Children coming from rural area of Tanzania to Dar es salaam, some had run away from home because of Child abuse some toward better future life, taking a holistic approach to Children needs.  The Trust seeks to provide shelter, education, and overcome poverty and exclusion of Tanzania’s least visible danger that Children having on the street without parents support.

At the time when we(tanzanian) were calling the desperate childrens "watoto wa mitaani", assuming that the city counsel will take care of them, while the city could not even care of its employee and city environment in general.
