VODAFONE M-PESA SERVICES NOW AVAILABLE AT BOA BANK TANZANIA
Dar es Salaam, 13 July 2009.
Vodacom Tanzania official signed up BOA Bank Tanzania to provide Vodafone M-Pesa services. “We are delighted to announce the signing up of Bank of Africa as the very first Bank in Tanzania to become Vodafone M-PESA agents”, said George Rwehumbiza Head of Sponsorship and Communication.

Vodafone M-PESA has revolutionized the way many Tanzanians manage their money, through easy and accessibility of Vodafone M-PESA agents for all using M-PESA countrywide.
Today BOA Bank Tanzania adds on to our current 1,000 agents countrywide.” He continued to say. Both pre-paid and post-paid Vodacom customers are able to open a Vodafone M-PESA account at no cost at any of our agents and now BOA Bank Tanzania.
Most important about Vodafone M-PESA any person from any mobile subscriber can receive money via M-PESA on their mobile phone. Today we welcome BOA Bank Tanzania to our world. We believe through our partnership we will be able to service a greater audience/customer.

Reviewing the process of clients becoming M-PESA account holders, George explained, after loading PESA in his or her mobile phone, the customer can send PESA to anyone with a cell phone who does not even have to be a Vodacom customer.
The receiver is notified by SMS that they have received a Vodafone M-PESA credit, which they can cash by identifying themselves at their nearest Vodafone M-PESA agent. PESA has now been transferred from one person to another, most likely hundreds of kilometers away, using a cell phone as the mechanism.
Vodafone M-PESA can also be used to load airtime credits, and pay bills.
The benefits of M-PESA starts with the expanding agent network we have, ability to send money, receive in an easy, fast and affordable way. Other benefits include ability to buy airtime, payments of bills and having access to money at all times.
