UHURU DAY IN COLUMBUS, OHIO

Sherehe za miaka 48 ya kuzaliwa kwa taifa letu pendwa la Tanzania

(sikukuu ya uhuru).

Mwaka huu chama cha wakina mama/dada cha SWAO (Sauti ya Wanawake wa Africa-Ohio) kimeamua kujitoa na kutayarisha shamra-shamra za sikukuu hii tukufu ya kuazimisha miaka 48 ya kuzaliwa kwa taifa letu.

Hii itakua mara ya kwanza baada ya mda wa zaidi ya miaka 18 kusherehekewa kwa sikukuu hii hapa mjini Columbus , OH .

Wanachama wa SWAO wanajitolea katika kutayarisha shamra-shamra hizi, kwa nia ya kuhamasisha Watanzania wote wanaoshi Ohio na Pan-Africanist wote ambao wangependa kujiunga na watanzania katika kujivunia urithi wetu na taifa letu; na shughuli hii na zingine nyingi…ambazo wana SWAO wanategemea zita chipukiza kutokana na hamasi hii.

The Steering Committee of the Sauti ya Wanawake wa Africa-Ohio (SWAO) has the pleasure and honor of proudly presenting the 48th anniversary of Tanzania Independence Day celebrations, in Ohio .

The event will take place on Friday, December 11, 2009, at

610 Lancaster Avenue,

Reynoldsburg , OH 43068 .

The time-frame for the event is 7:00 PM – 1:00 AM;

the event is a revival after more than 18 years when it was last celebrated in Columbus . These celebrations used to be organized by the East African Community in Columbus , OH annually during the early 80s to the early 90s.

The SWAO organization is organizing this event in the sprit of “ Tanzania volunteerism and community participation” by facilitating the pride of our heritage and patriotism for our mother nation. They hope to inspire both Tanzanians and Pan-Africans ( Tanzania enthusiasts) in Ohio to collaborate in mobilizing the community and enabling other related community events.
