Officials from the world renowned sports institute Diambars which has opened successful sports academies in world wide including African countries such as Senegal and South Africa were recently in Dar es Salaam. The mission for this visit was to carry out a feasibility study of the area as they are very interested in starting up a branch in Dar Es Salaam.
Jean –marc Adjovi -Boco the institutes co-founder has said that he is impressed with president Jakaya Kikwete’s dedication to the sports sector in Tanzania. He said that he is looking forward to start up an academy here and assist in developing the local sports talent as well as providing quality education to deserving youth.
Among the stake holders of the Diambars institute are French champions Bernard Lama, Patrick Viera and Saer SECK. During the visit the officials were hosted by UNESCO and the sports authority of Tanzania with guidance of the UNESCO Regional Advisor for Africa, Sports and P.E Mr. Marcellin Dally and the C.E.O o f LZ enterprise Mr. Rahim Zamunda Kangezi.

ABOUT DIAMBARS
"Diambars” is a Senegalese word for fighters, which was allocated to a football academy concept designed to address the plight African football stars who chase fame and fortune in the world of football at the expense of education.
The project started taking shape: "Turning passion for football into an educational mainspring. Building a school for champions _ a school which would also form men and contribute to the education of children, to the development of countries and the African continent."
Now it is an UNESCO program, also developed in France with "Stade Sup" (with the Stade de France) and Campus Diambars (with United Players), new Educational projects for young people, whom passion is sport and particularly football.
