Dear friends,
I was deeply saddened to read the news of the passing of our dear friend, brother and colleague Reginald Mhango. I was involved with the Daily News in the 1970s and remember him well. He always spoke to me very warmly whenever we had met.

I met him again many years later at the Daily News and he still remembered me. I last met him at The Guardian, I respected him very deeply and he guided me professionally in my early years in journalism. He was a thorough gentleman. We are much poorer now with his passing away.

Please convey my deepest sympathy to his family for this irreparable loss.
