ARE YOU REGISTERED TO VOTE IN THE UK?
ARE YOU FROM THE COMMONWEALTH?
ARE YOU A LEGAL RESIDENT IN THE UK AND NOT ON A VOTER'S REGISTER?
We the Africans in the Diaspora have decided to Lauch a new organisation called NEW DEAL AFRICA. Our main aim is to see that Africans in the Diaspora are fairly represented and fully participate in the democratic process.
We the Africans in the Diaspora have decided to Lauch a new organisation called NEW DEAL AFRICA. Our main aim is to see that Africans in the Diaspora are fairly represented and fully participate in the democratic process.
NEW DEAL AFRICA argues and campaigns for a vibrant, inclusive democracy that puts power in the hands of the people.
We seek a democratic participative process resulting in a fair representation that serves and protects the people. That fair representation would define the new relationships between, the Executive, Legislature, Judiciary and the community they serve in Modern Britain.
It would enshrine basic liberties and human rights for all.
We campaign:
* for fair and open elections;
* Fair representation of the African Diaspora in the Political System.
* for transparency in public decision making
* to ensure that power is exercised as close to people as is practicable
* to empower individuals and their communities to have a greater say over the decisions that affect them
* for democratic accountability of all elected representatives, government and public bodies
* for universal human rights for all.
We promote:
* a new culture of informed political interest and responsibility, paving the way for increased enthusiastic public participation
* a pluralist democracy that is responsive to the problems and aspirations of all people, valuing and accommodating difference, diversity and universal human rights. Everyone has the right to live their life in dignity under the law, and free from fear.

Did you know that Africans living in England with little income and education, employed individuals , those who don’t own their homes , with a shorter length of time at their current residences and unmarried are more likely not to register to vote?
We need an electoral registration system which makes a reality of our community. For everyone to have the right to vote, everyone needs to be on the electoral register. Our system must work in such a way that everyone in all constituencies has the right to vote.

Under-registration is a problem, not only for those who want to vote, and find they cannot. But also because the boundaries of parliamentary constituencies are based on the number of people on the electoral register
NEW DEAL AFRICA is a non governmental and non-aligned organisation, committed to working inclusively across the political spectrum. We seek to understand how democracy works in practice and to use evidence-based research to inform and develop policies. But most of all is that we seek to see that people of African Heritage are fairly engaged and represented in the Political system.
Democracy is the process which gives people a voice in society. It allows each of us to influence how Britain is governed and have our say about the kind of society we want. That's why it's important for everyone to understand how it works, so that we can all play a full and positive role.
That is why we are launching NEW DEAL AFRICA –an organisation that will help support and educate Africans from the Commonwealth in the UK about how to get involved. We are committed .Our cause is right , and its popular .Together we can turn that popularity into real pressure to deliver the type of Democracy the country needs.

In response to Ayubu Mzee, who thinks to participate in UK G election is big deal: I don't think so as You made erroneous claim we live in a democracy. In my 30 years only two prime ministers have been elected. I didn't elect Gordon Brown and neither did you. In a real, true democracy, the people would vote in a leader but bear in your mind that we leave in a world where those with the deepest pockets are those in power. Did you vote to invade Iraq? Afghanstan? Did any of us vote on bank bailouts? The only things we have left is freedom of thought as even our freedom of speech is now gone. I would encourage everyone who wants to talk about politics to first exercise their freedom of thought, draw their own conclusions and ensure the next generation are not governed by slavery-inducing monetary institutions.
