After reading the news about the Bus accident at Kifaru today,
please publish my concerns as follow.;
I feel very sorry for many Tanzanian who perished yearly on Tanzanian roads. Some they are incapacitated for their entire lifetime by amputation, crippling, some left with serious body injuries and intolerable pains. Not forgetting those orphans left behind and relatives left to support them when they as they are bed ridden. Consequently increased poverty as energetic people some potential bread earners left helplessly at the same time property is lost or damaged.
What Tanzania Traffic police and government doing to correct the situation. We have seen Traffic Bosses coming in a going (the Kombes and the likes) without any change except lip services. Above all who is concern about educating the passengers and the public at large about suitable Bus Companies that have good road records. I think someone somewhere is hiding the statistics about Bus accidents for expmpel the notorious Bus companies, drivers and sections of the roads. We want strong NGOs otherwise strong government departments that can expose to the public, the statistics of road accidents so that passengers can choose buses according to safety records and not because of colour or plate numbers .
Lets ask ourselves, for how long Tanzanians are going to grieve the loss and suffering of their loved ones and bread earners because of frequent road accidents??. Who is concern and how he gets responsible and accountable when accidents occur. The traffic, passengers, drivers, bus owners ohh hhh….. Otherwise the irresponsible situation can only happen in this country.

Mada yako ni muhimu lakini ungemsikiliza Waziri Mkuchika ukatumia Kiswahili ungeeleweka vizuri na kwa wengi. Inaoneka wazi kabisa kuwa hukimudu kiingereza vizuri. Sarufi yako ya Kiingereza si nzuri. Kipende Kiswahili, kitumie na kieneze. Kidumu Kiswahili.
ReplyDeleteKuhusu ajali, nakubaliana na wewe kwamba ni lazima hatua za makusudi zichukuliwe na serikali katika kulinda maisha ya raia wake dhidi ya ajali za barabarani. Hiki ni kilio cha wananchi na ni lazima serikali isikilize waajili wake ambao ndio sisi wananchi.
Actually am very much concerned with this an end less road accidents which make our brother and sister to either loose their parts of their body just because of some body n nounces.
ReplyDeleteAm writing this as one of the person who is coming from Mwanga district in Kilimanjaro Region,where the accident took place,,currently am in Dar es Salaam but when i concider the way the road is straight at Kifaru no body could imagine that accident could have happen
I completely agree with the comments and views of some body have just being the first to talk about this matter. Lets the government announce to the citizen about the risk company that are operating,once they loose customer they will maintain their service.Am sorry to say that,,MOHAMEDI TRANS,TASHRIF,SHABIBY,NGORIKA,ZUBERI,AM, are among of the dangerous bus i had never come across with it,,am sure every one will have to agree with me regarding the bad history of accidents of the said bus companies.for the sake of Ngorika the issues is Over speed am sure for God sake if it happen that it fall down with that speed no on will come out alive,

ReplyDeleteIt is really pain to see that people are loosing their loved ones nearly everyday due to several reasons which in one way or another, the government or organizations concerned are not seem to be doing their job well.
Road traffic accidents are a major problem in Tanzania .
Being a road user in Tanzania is not safe for several reasons. Traffic safety for vulnerable road users mainly pedestrians and in particular the youth is far from acceptable.
Traffic safety for children is not sufficiently considered. Road users show little consideration to themselves and other road users.
Tanzania is not doing well as far as road accidents are concerned.
Road accidents affects the people as well as the economy, hence there is need for greater emphasis on the subject. It is believed that education can be a weapon to fight this scourge. If people are well educated on the importance of the accident and proper use of roads, they can be safe road users and consequently avoid accidents.
Road accidents is now a disaster in Tanzania.
Tanzania has to change nearly everything, i mean every sector such as the issuing of licence, speed limits and the vehicles are to be in a good condition. etc ( too many to mention)
In life everything has to meet certain standards to qualify. A student has to pass an entrance exam to get in a good school as well to cars, drivers etc.
I am so disappointed seeing, nobody in the government or those NGO's stand and try to find a solution for that instead we end up seeing breaking news everyday. If they are, then the solutions should start working and reduce this disaster.
To have a SAFE and EFFICIENT roadway, we need the 4-Es, namely ENGINEERING, EDUCATION, ENFORCEMENT, and EMERGENCY. We will not reduce accidents (crashes) significantly unless we implement all the 4-Es. Unfortunately, Tanzania lacks all of them!!"

Maoni yangu yamejikita zaidi katika ubovu wa magari pamoja na madereva wazembe,,kwa wale wenyeji wa mkoa wa kilimanjaro au wanaopita eneo lile utaona kabisa kwamba ukiwa unaupita m,buyu flani uliopo barabarani kwa mbele ndipo utakapoona kona kali na daraja mbele yako,,na pale inatosha kabisa kuona ni kitu gani kinachokuja mbele yako,,sasa huyo dereva wa lori hakuona kuna basi linakuja? hakujiona gari lake ni linabeba 'ABNORMAL LOAD" yaani mzigo mkubwa ,mpana na wa hatari? na je kwani hapakuwa na pick up inayotakiwa kutangulia mbele huku ikitoa ishara ya hatari kwamba nyuma kuna gari pana linakuja?,au pick up ililipita lori ikawa umbali wa zaidi ya km moja?mana huwa inatokeaga unapishana na pick up inayoashiria lori la mizigo lisilo la kawaida linakuja ,lakini unatembea km moja then ndio ulikute lori,,,na je dereva wa basi alivoona pic up,,kama ilikuwepo by the way,,kwa nini hakuchukua tahadhari ya kupunguza mwendo?na kwa nini dereva wa basi ang'ang'anie kupishana na lori pana katikati ya daraja? haya ni maswali niyojiuliza,,,niliwahi kushuhudia ajali kama hiyo hiyo mwaka 2003 eneo hilo hilo,pont hiyo hiyo kati ya basi la Scanavia wakati huo yakiwa yapo juu kibiashara pamoja na Lori,,niliiona LIVE,,kwani madereva wote wawili waliwashiana taa ya hatari kwamba kila mmoja amruhusu mwenzake apite kwanza badala yake wakakutana mwisho wa daraja,,na wa basi akafa hapo hapo kifo kibaya mno,,na wa lori akibanwa na mkanda,,jamani mimi narudia tena kwa meneja wa Tanroad kilimanjaro lile eneo sasa linabidi kuwekwa bamsi kali ili madereva wapunguze spidi itasaidia kidogo,

Naungana na mdau hapo juu kwamba naomba mabasi yote yatoyo huduma yawe MARCOPOLO,,kwani yale yana kuta pana,na siyo mabati,,ni material za FIBER,,yaani nzuzi nyuzi ambazo haziwezi zikafumuka zote kwa mara moja na kuruhusu watu kutupwa njee,kwani ndugu watanzania wenzetu tujiulize pindi ajali inapotokea iyohusisha mabasi ya kuchongwa na SUBSCANIA,au yale ya NAIROBI KENYA,,mara nyingi haya ya kuchongwa pindi linapoanguka paa hutoka na abiria hutupwa njee,,na mara nyingi vifo huwa vingi,,,jamani MARCOPOLO ni expensive kuyapanda na hata kuyanunua ila yana ahueni pindi linapoanguka,,kwa kweli inaniuma sana kuona mtu umetoka asubihi jioni inakukuta ni kilema au umeshapoa upo kwenye fridge Mochwari jamani inauma sana
