DOCTORAL AND POST DOCTORAL STUDY OPPORTUNITIES AT IHI
INTRODUCTION
Ifakara Health Institute (IHI) is a not-for profit research and training Institute whose mission is to develop and sustain a district-based health research and resource centre capable of generating new knowledge and relevant information for public health policy and actions. IHI is among the leading health research institutes in Africa and was awarded the prestigious 2008 Prince of Asturias Award for International Cooperation.
Due to expansion in its operations, IHI wishes to invite qualified young graduates from higher learning institutions in Tanzania or any other qualified Tanzanians working in foreign countries who intend to pursue their future career as Research Scientists. Candidates can be hired to work with IHI as part of post-doctorate or establish their own doctoral programme of studies within the institute. The Institute shall facilitate acquisition of funding for doctoral and post doctoral research studies in the following areas:-
1. Medical Statistics (1 post)
2. Clinical epidemiology and Public Health (1post)
3. Demography (1post)
4. Pediatrics (1post)
An attractive salary and other fringe benefits shall be offered based on right qualifications and experience
MODE OF APPLICATION
Interested candidates are invited to send their expression of interest attaching curriculum vitae (CVs) and photocopies of academic and professional certificates to the undersigned address. Potential and qualified candidates shall be invited for a first round of interviews in mid May, 2010 and the final round of interviews will be held in mid June, 2010.
