The annual 3-day Mzalendo Halisi Music Festival will be held on May 13th – 15th, 2010 at the Posta Grounds, Kijitonyama, Dar Es Salaam. A festival of traditional Tanzanian music and world music with performances and participation appropriate for adults, extended families, children, seniors, and students.

Over 120 professional performers appear in 3-day concerts: Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings from 6pm. The daytime on the same days presents art exhibitions and cultural items sales and display from more than 60 participants.
Children and students will have to pay TShs. 500/= for entry, while adults pay TShs. 2000/= for their tickets.
Food vendors, instrument makers and a juried craft show provide a festive village atmosphere.


The 2010 performers include:
Che Mundu Gwao, Wahapahapa Band, Mrisho Mpoto, Carola Kinasha, Msafiri Zawose and Chibite, Irene Sanga, Vitali Maembe and The Spirits. Others are Jhikoman the reggae singer, Mwela Band, Zemkala Band, Iju Band, Sisi Tambala and Sokomoko Jadi.     Kudos to the organizers, it is an excellent idea. please provide us with a program event so that we know who is performing when. Honestly, many of us will not be able to come all three days, but once we have the progam we can decide and schedule ourselves when to come.

    Kwa ufahamu wangu, na kwa ninavyoona aina hii ya muziki, inaonekana sie wabongo ndio walengwa wakuu wa tamasha hili. Pamoja na sababu zingine labda ni pamoja na kutukumbusha tunakotoka, tusisahau kabisa ngoma za nyumbani, tusiwe tunaendelea kung'ang'ania 'Bongo fleva' tu kila siku. Sasa hamuoni kwamba ingekuwa bora haya maelezo yangewekwa katika lugha yetu ya Kiswahili? Ili taarifa itufikie sie tulio wengi??? Hiki kimombo hapa kawekewa nani? Hivi ni lazima kila jambo liwekwe kimombo jamani???? Sasa mie hapa sijaelewewa vizuri, nilichooambulia hapa ni majina ya wasanii maarufu tu, inabidi nimtafute mtu anitafsirie, nitampata wapi??????
    Yaani siku hizi kila mtu, kila kitu ni kimombo tu, kwa kwenda mbele.
