On Saturday, 28 May ’11 the Designer Collection had a dazzling fashion show at the Mount Meru Hotel. Owner of Designer Colletion, Hanifa Hashi joined forces with Peace Melani and Annalise van Beest to present a fashion show in aid of the Peacemaker group that looks after the Albino’s in Arusha. The show was sold out and with the help of sponsors and generous donators they managed to raise enough money to make a difference in these people’s lives.
When Hanifa was asked how she experienced Mount Meru Hotel, she only had one word: “Divine!” She said “The staff were on top of everything, the food were excellent and we were really been looked after.” She also adds: “When I came to Mount Meru Hotel and explained my vision with the show and my limited budget, they immediately agreed to assist with sponsorship, which I am very grateful for.”
Mrs Hashi is a born & bred Tanzanian and has been in the clothing industry for 8 yrs, running her own collection for 4 yrs. She is well-known for doing fashion shows in aid of charities. Some of the previous organization she has helped is Maridadi (abused woman) and Moshi & Arusha orphanages. Her passion to help those in need spreads even further where she assists in looking after and creating awareness for the needs of 21 children in Makao Mpya on a permanent basis.
The spectators were in awe about the top class designs and if you missed out be assured that this was not the last. Keep your high heels dusted as the Mount Meru Hotel and Designer Collection are already planning a glamorous event for later this year!
