The six Rotary Clubs of Dar es Salaam & Bank M invite you to participate in one of Tanzania’s largest charity events - the Rotary Dar Marathon. You don’t need to run to help, the walk option is only 9 km. This year, proceeds will fund the construction of a new Children’s Cancer Ward at Muhimbili National Hospital.
Since 2007, the folks at Muhimbili have increased the childhood cancer survival rate from 12% to 50%. The biggest challenge now is death from infection due to over-crowding and weakened immune systems. The new cancer ward will have isolation rooms to protect the children from these avoidable infections.
