Stanchart to bring more innovative products

Standard Chartered Bank Tanzania has re-assured its customers that it is still in good shape and customers should be expect more innovative products and value addition services in the near future. The assurance was given by Stanchart Tanzania Chief Executive Officer, Jeremy Awori during an Iftar organized by the bank to its customers and partners, in a function held at Serena hotel in Dar es Salaam on Thursday evening. Br. Awori said the bank decided to bring its customers together in order to share with them the best ways the bank can serve them better and to also to share with them products and services in the pipeline.

“We are looking at opportunities where we will open more branches, that is why we talk to you to see where we can put this branches. We will also be bringing more ATMs and there is an additional functionality we are putting in mobile banking and electronic banking. There are other service quality products which will be coming out,” said Mr. Awori. He said the bank over the last few months, have taken a number of initiatives to invest in more products and news services as it try to improve on an ongoing basis.

“You shall have seen some few changes in a number of products. We have currently revamped our foreign currency accounts and made it to be the most valuable foreign currency account in the market. “We have taken a lot of feedbacks from our customers; we have changed the tariffs by lowering them significantly in line with what our customers told us.

“We have also launched employees’ privilege banking which is a package for employers and employees making it easier for employees and employers to get banking services and we are re-launching priority banking,” he said. Stanchart CEO said that last year, it retained 100 per cent of its profits to allow it to invest further in its business and in its brand.

“You are going to see a number of changes coming in in the near future. You will see us turning our IHP International Life House Branch into a flagship branch. We are yet to open a priority center and we think it will be a state of the art world class branch,” he said. 

He said it is important that during Ramadhan, as a bank, they remember the less fortunate and said that this is a time where people can reflect on kindness, giving and participating in changing lives of the community they are living in.

He said, “The giving and helping the less privileged, goes in line with the bank’s slogan saying, ‘we are here for good’. He said Stanchart is rely investing in seeing is believing project where it want to raise 1.5 million USD in helping to treating blindness.
