On 16th December, 2013, the Government of Japan, through the scheme of Grant
Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGHSP), extended a grant aid of
US$ 159,037 (approximately 250 million Tshs) to the following project:
The Project for Reconstruction of a Two-storey Classroom Block at Michakaini
A Primary School in Chakechake Town, South Pemba Region
The contract for the project was signed by H.E. Mr. Masaki Okada, Ambassador of
Japan, and the representative of the recipient primary school.
The Signing Ceremony was attended by:
Hon. Prof. Ibrahim Haruna Lipumba, Chairman of the Civic United Front (CUF),
Hon. Mr. Dadi Fakhi Dadi, Ag. Regional Commissioner, South Pemba Region,
Hon. Ms. Mwanajuma Majid Abdulla, District Commissioner, Chakechake District
The Government of Japan has been extending support to local communities in various
sectors including health, education and water supply under the GGHSP scheme since
1991.
