AFC Vs Academie Group stage match

Today [Semis]:
AFC Leopards [Kenya] Vs Academie Tchite [Burundi], 5:30pm
Victoria University [Uganda] Vs Ahly Shandi [Sudan], 8:30pm

The inaugural CECAFA Nile Basin Cup tournament goes into the semifinals this Monday evening here in Khartoum City, Sudan with both games causing a lot of tension.

AFC Leopards Vs Academie Tchite
Both clubs were part of the Group ‘B’ composition and AFC Leopards struggled to edge their opponents 1-0 in their last group stage match. Their late goal [83’] came through Benard Mangoli.
But both teams qualified for the quarters with Leopards leading the group on maximum points and Academie finishing 3rd with only 3 points. Academie however later registered the biggest shock of the tournament when they dumped the hosts and tourney favourites Al-Merreik 3-2 on spot kicks after a 1-1 draw in the normal time of the second quarter finals last Friday.

Victoria University Vs Ahly Shandy
The two clubs have never played each other and Ahly Shandy coach Elnnagar Al-Ftih confesses knowing nothing much about their opponents. Victoria’s Muzamir Mutyaba is expected back in action after serving his one match suspension.

Ahly Shandy is however an attack minded club with almost all departments functioning to perfection.  The Ugandan defence commanded by Captain Martin Mpuga will have a busy evening to contain the speeding strikers of Saaed Mustafa, Bashir Mohamoud, Awad Mohamoud and Addis Hintsa

Extra time granted
In case no winner is decided in the 90 minutes of the normal time, the matches will go into a 30-minute extra time and if the same result doesn’t change after the added time, it will be penalties. Tuesday will be a resting day before the finals on Wednesday.
