Tranforming the art of ICT, Telecom and Electrical Engineering

iVoice Technologies Company Limited is pleased to invite participants to its technical seminar on effective Earthing, Lightning and Surge protection which is scheduled to be conducted on 14th and 15th of August 2014 at Protea Hotel  Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

As different researches on earthing perpetuate worldwide, an exploration for the standard, sustainable and everlasting mechanism to achieve the desirable earthing resistance value has been a challenging process. Though embraced by Tanzania and Africa as whole, the widely practiced traditional method of lowering the earthing resistance by treating the soil with salt, charcoal and water is only beneficial for short duration of time. Furthermore the corrosive nature of salt can corrode the bonding joints and ultimately increase resistance value around the area.

In contrast to earthing, the concern in Lightning and surge protection is mainly on methodology rather than standardisation.  In Tanzania majority of Engineers use normal insulated cable to transfer lighting effect to the ground. While the insulated cable can with stand a maximum of 600 Volts before becoming a conductor, a single strike can generate thousands and hundred thousands of volts. This is evident that, the normal insulated cable can never be sufficient to be used as a down conductor.

iVoice Technologies Company Limited envisages to bring world class technical skills to Tanzania and East African region by bringing world class experts around the world on board. We research and understand the current technical problems facing our country and through training and seminars we can build the capacity of our Engineers and technical personnel.

This seminar will be presented by Carlos Alberto Paganini, a USA senior Facility protection expert and an experienced Electrical Engineer who has trained on lighting, earthing and surge protection in over 30 countries worldwide.  This seminar is intended to both senior and junior Electrical Engineers in Government institutions, Telecoms, Power generation, Mining, Oil/ Gas industry, Electrical Consultants and Contractors.

The fee is US$ 450 per person. The fee covers all educational presentations, lunch and the experience-sharing seminar sessions. All other expenses such as travel, accommodation, and incidentals are the responsibility of each individual participant. Once we receive confirmation and payment, we will reserve space for the staff and provide a full programme package.
