The first Hospitality Roundtable will bring together leading hotel brands, hoteliers, suppliers, buyers, investors, and cross sector service providers to establish a clear dialogue on the state of the industry and to secure future growth. The Conference will be held at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre in Dar es Salaam Tanzania on November 10-11, 2014. Entrance to the conference is FREE to all East African Nationals and Registration can be done online at http://www.hospitalityroundtabletz.com/online-registration.html

Over the next few decades, Sub Saharan Africa is expected to undergo profound economical change. The conference will bring together regional and industry experts to allow exploration of business opportunities, find new business partners and gain invaluable industry knowledge to help their business succeed. More importantly, delegates will be able to see how they, as stakeholders, can align their services and be part of this growth.  With the potential to lead to national economic development, the hospitality industry is hoped to seize this opportunity to catalyze  growth and become a leading region that the world will recognize.

" With international and domestic investors recognizing the rich potential in Tanzania, it really is the time for us all to discuss how Tanzania can best foster a sustainable hospitality industry, build lasting and mutually beneficial partnerships, and build a pipeline for success” said conference organizer and international hospitality expert Meelis Kuuskler. “The hospitality and tourism industry is poised to grow at unprecedented rates. But, this development can only materialize if stakeholders can build a sturdy ecosystem to facilitate its sustained growth. With communication, innovation, and a coordinated planning effort, we can build on the solid foundation that East Africa has already established.”

The conference programme will introduce several new and exciting sessions with themes that include: Current state of the industry, Supply Chain and Sourcing, Recruitment, training, and Retention of Human Resources, Revenue in food and beverage, new Technology that can support hospitality developments and operations. If Tanzania and East Africa are to benefit from this industry, it is important for all stakeholders to be proactive and keep abreast of current trends and advancements.

The hospitality industry requires consistent delivery of products and services that meet guest expectations. Delivering consistent and quality service is one of the major challenges that the hospitality industry faces. Considering issues such as procurement, staffing, and strategies for growth, the 2-day conference will allow delegates to consider new ways of ensuring their business remains competitive.
Keynote messages and panel discussions will include presentations from domestic and international experts in hospitality, who will be sharing their views on how to secure the healthy growth of the industry in Tanzania. Suppliers and showcase providers are coming from around the world to present their products to the industry. This represents a major shift in business as usual, as the roundtable introduces hospitality suppliers to the industry, suppliers who can directly support overall growth and success.
One of the fundamental issues affecting the growth of the hospitality sector is that of Human Resources.  "The challenge we need to address in the hotel industry as far as human resources is training and  development of employees . In order to equip the employees with the necessary skills, companies should adopt a proactive approach when it comes to training. Training should be continuous, consistent  and relevant to the industry needs"  said Mr Damasi Mfugale, CEO of Peacock Hotels.

"The Hospitality Roundtable comes at a time when Africa is facing a lot of challenges mainly because of both intentional and unintentional misrepresentation of its facts on international media which unfortunately influences decisions of individual tourists.

I am of opinion that this forum will be a good platform to disseminate truth and facts on Africa and Tanzania in particular and will bring invaluable experience sharing amongst stakeholders at a time when there is need to do so more than ever before." said Mr Sirili Akko, CEO of Tanzania Association of Tour Operators.
