On 29th April 2015, Ambassador/Judge James Kateka celebrated his 70th birthday. A dinner party was held at the Serena hotel in Dar es salaam.
The guest of honour, former President Benjamin W Mkapa is flanked on his right by Ambassador/Judge James Kateka, former PM Judge Joseph S Warioba and Mme Evelyn Warioba. On the left is Dr Adolphine Kateka, Mama  Anna Mkapa and Prof Rwekaza Mukandala. Standing at extreme right is Advocate Kahabuka Kateka and in the middle in red is Ms Kahumbya Kateka
