SOUTH AFRICAN ARTIST K.O (CARACARA) TO TOUR DAR ES SALAAM AND PARTNER WITH LOCAL ARTISTS

DAR ES SALAAM The multi award-winning artist K.O with hit single Caracara is to tour Dar es Salaam from the 13^th to the 17^th of September 2014. In his tour the artist will look into forming collaborations with local Tanzanian artists. K.O has already collaborated with leading female Tanzanian artist Vanessa Mdee in their hit song “Aint No Body”. He will use his stay in the country to tour various media houses and host strategic meet and greet sessions with Tanzanian artists and various stakeholders within the music industry.

This is K.O’s first tour of Tanzania is touring Tanzania as part of his East Africa tour. He is expected to visit Kenya right after Tanzania and perform at the Ebony lounge in the Nairobi Westlands. K.O expressed his desire to spread his music to East Africa and also gain new partnerships and collaboration within the regions. 

“Tanzania is quickly becoming the hub of the new African sound. The artists here are extremely talented a good number of them have managed to gain international recognition. I am looking forward to exploring the opportunities available to create new music with my fellow artists from Tanzania”, he said. 

The internationally acclaimed performer is considered to have birthed the new sound of South African Hip Hop/Rap sound. His first single ‘Mission Statement’ received significant airplay across Southern African and East Africa, but his follow-up single Caracara (featuring Cashtime Life artist KiD X) has received international recognition! During his first year of his debut album ‘Skhanda Republic’ K.O was voted hottest MTV MC of the year 2014 and 2^nd African artists to watch by BBC1 Xtra. 

He has also received amongst others, 2 MTV MAMA nominations and 5 Channel O music video nominations.

K.O has also had the opportunity to partner with global social media giant Twitter to launch its audio service called Audio Card, a Twitter App that allows users to stream audio within a tweet. K.O has formed a continuous relationship with Twitter who worked closely with him in lauching K.O’s latest single ‘Sun of a Gun’.
