The Africa Road Builders – Trophée Babacar NDIAYE 2021

The Inaugural Conference of The Africa Road Builders – Trophée Babacar NDIAYE 2021 will take place on March 31, 2021 in Cairo, Egypt, in agreement with the Egyptian authorities and with the renewed support of the African Development Bank (AfDB).

The venue was chosen according to the tradition of this initiative, which is that the winning country of the Babacar NDIAYE Trophy of the previous year will host the Inaugural Conference of the current year.

The General Commission thanks the highest Egyptian authorities and expresses in particular its deep gratitude to the Egyptian Minister of Transport, His Excellency Mr. Kamel ELWAZEER and his collaborators for their great concern. The General Commission thanks the Ambassador of Egypt to Côte d'Ivoire, His Excellency Mr. Wael BADAWI and the whole embassy.

The General Commission congratulates again the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, His Excellency Mr. Abdel Fattah al-SISI for his victory at the Babacar NDIAYE Trophy in 2020 and encourages him to continue working for the happiness of the Egyptian people.  

The General Commission thanks infinitely the President of the AfDB, Dr Akinwumi ADESINA for his availability and his sponsorship to this great initiative since 2016. The General Commission associates with this thanks the great family of the AfDB for its permanent support.  

The General Commission also expresses its gratitude to Prof. Carlos LOPES, President of Conferences board for his permanent support and his wise orientations. The theme for this year is: “Roads and transport for health: actions and achievements to meet the challenges in Africa”. This theme was motivated by the context of the health crisis that the whole world has been going through for more than a year. The Inaugural Conference 2021 will therefore be an opportunity to share experiences on how roads and transport build and improve health in Africa. To do
this, several African Transport Ministers have been invited to join the Egyptian Minister of Transport.

 Public and private institutions are also invited to share their experiences. The General Commission thanks them all and thanks all its partners and sponsors. The General Commission salutes the memory of Dr Babacar NDIAYE who donated his name to this continental event and whose work inspires.
