Adam, you are genius. Ok, I had to visit the TPDC to probe how much oil is in Pemba and the answer shocked me. The cost of bringing oil harvesting technology cannot even be paid by what is in Pemba. Oil issue was not supposed to separate us. This is my fourth year in Zanzibar and I know well how these folks behave when it comes to politics. People speak just for the sake of speaking. I happen to talk with a woman I respect so much because of her political position. This woman does not like people from the mainland because they take all their wealth to Dar es salaam. The funniest point in our discussion is when she said that a very famous boat Sepide takes thousands of shillings generated by Bwawani hotel every evening. Oil is not an issue. The issue is selfishness. Selfishness is the greatest enemy of the minds. Selfish man/woman will never enjoy life even if he is given everything. For more than four years I have been researching on which side benefit from the union more than the other. Well, the answer is very simple, isalnders benefit more than mainlanders both politically, economically and socially. I can tell you, out of union islanders will not stay for more than five years without killing each other. Leave alone the fact that more than 30 mps from Zanzibar will loose their 7mils each get every month. Socially, so far nothing in cultural realm has mainlander ever imitated from the islander. Life is very tough in the island, if you push all the mainlanders out of the islands, the mainlanders can live but if you push all the islanders residing in the mainland, they may find hard to live in the islands. I can tell you, even tourist industry may collapse as the muslim women cannot sell beer to tourists.

solution ni kuwa tukubali kutowa mgao wa madini na mali asili zote na wao watowe mgao wa mafuta na karafuu.
kwa ushauri wangu ni bora tuwaachie maana tukikubali tutawanufaisha wao zaidi kuliko sisi.

Wewe ulitaka dhahabu zikichimbwa wapelekekewe gm/kg/ton ngapi za dhahabu ndio ujue kuwa wanapata mgao? Huo umeme wanaotumia ambao ni rahisi kuliko hata kwenye chanzo (bara) unazalishwa kwa gesi ya wapi? Uswahili umewazidi hawa jamaa zetu huwezi kuanza kutishia watu wanaokubeba kwa mafuta ambayo hayapo.
