The wait is over. After eagerly awaiting the release of her first single, fans can finally appreciate the soft, sultry voice of Nakaaya Sumari.
Released from the Project Fame Academy back in December, Nakaaya has been hard at work on her debut album. Now, after returning from two months abroad, she is dropping the first single from that album, Malaika.
Malaika is a beautiful love song offering Nakaaya's personal take on the age old classic. In it she urges her lover to take her as she is, a woman in love, and not think she needs anything from him but to love her in return. At a time when so many people are being driven by money and material gain, Nakaaya reminds us that some things are more important than money.
The song is her first solo release and fans can catch it on local radio or on her website, www.Nakaaya.com. Nakaaya said that working on the album has been a real joy, and has helped her learn so much about herself.
She wrote Malaika herself and has already been propositioned by other artists wanting her to write songs for them. First, she says, she needs to finish her own album. She expects to release the full album in a couple of months.

  7. Thats a very cool song, the voice, the beat is nice and easy. She's singing better than she was singing at the TuskerPF. Like one Anon, said hope she doesn't strive to go too commercial, mara leo zouk, kesho rhumba, kesho kutwa hiphop etc. This distracts the fans and puts off loyal fans. Ni vizuri ku-stick tu a personal style! Good Luck!
