Beautiful Tanzanie Agency, a young communications firm based in Dar-es-Salaam has launched the first ever reality TV model search competition entitled Face of Tanzania. The Face of Tanzania will be the biggest annual model search competition that has ever happened in Tanzania. It will scout for aspiring models in 7 regions of the country, and select 18 semi finalists who will stay in a model camp for one month. During this month the girls will be tried and tested with model related activities which will lead to a public elimination of 2 models every week.
In the end 10 girls will remain that will vie for the title at the grand finale that will be graced with international fashion spectacles and designers.
The Face of Tanzania model camp will be filled with exciting activities. The girls will be taken to the Ngorongoro Crater for a 3 day thrilling tour experience that will include a spectacular photo shoot in the crater.
The 10 finalists will fly to Johannesburg. in the Gauteng province in South Africa for a 3 days real life experience of how an international model survives.
The whole process from the scouting, the recruiting to the real life drama that will spark from the reality of having 18 girls competing for one big title will be televised.
The TV series will premier on the 7th of January 2008 on TVT and will run till the finals which will take place in mid March.
The Face of Tanzania winner will receive a one year modeling contract that is estimated to be worth Tshs 50,000,000 with O model Africa agency based in Johannesburg South Africa owned by international super model Oluchi and international producer Jan Malan.
Face of Tanzania has the theme titled – Mimi ni kisura, najitambuwa.The theme will support an important and vital aspect of a young girls life and which is self awareness.
We believe that if a young woman is self aware of who she is, what greatness she is capable of achieving and how much she can be in control of her life she will take initiative to self develop herself, be cautious of diseases especially HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases, steer clear of unplanned pregnancies and instead work towards ambitions that will not only develop and benefit her but the nation in general.
This theme will be projected through seminars and activities that will empower the girls that are directly participating in the show as well as those who will be watching from home.
