My fellow Countrymen;
Our Campaign is still on. We have heard so much about the Flood Victims in different parts of our country (more than 7 regions).
Their lives have been completely messed up and they have to start all over again. I am talking about more than 40,000 victims and more than 10,000 families in Kilosa; Kongwa; Mpwapwa etc who are victims of floods.
I would like to encourage voluntary contribution from all of us who have been touched to help the victims. Tanzania Professionals Network (TPN) is mobilizing all the donations to Flood Victims via the Tanzania Red Cross Society who have been assisting the Victims from day one. I am suggesting that we mobilize our donations and hand-over to Red Cross this Friday ready for delivery to victims next week.
I encourage, we contribute in the following ways:
1. Material Donations: If u have anything at home u don’t need or use like Clothes, Bed sheets, Blankets, Mosquito nets, Mattresses, Clothes, Shoes, Kitchen items, water buckets etc, etc, think how many people are suffering for missing these items while we keep them at home while don’t need them. Please bring them to the office on Wednesday and Thursday. Mmari of TPN (0715 740 047) will collect from you, just call him or Deliver to TPN Offices. Please reply to me directly if u will bring anything. There are pupils in Primary School who has donated 10 bags of these items. What about you?
2. Money: You can donate any amount you want. I suggest TZS 10,000/=. But anything between TZS 5,000 to more than TZS 100,000/= is still ideal. Personally I will contribute TZS 50,000 to set a motion. Please send your pledges to me directly. TPN will issue the receipts and Red Cross too.
3. I would also encourage you contribute as Corporate or Company or Institution. You can just send your Pledge.
I sincere believe this will be our best responsibility to the community and will make sure the handover to Red Cross will be done with the highest publicity.
