The Pandeiro Repique Duo Maisha Music and The Brazilian Embassy in Tanzania are proud to announce that two of Brazils young leading percussionists are coming to Tanzania. Bernardo Aguiar (Pandeiro) and Gabriel Policarpo (Repique), together called Pandeiro Repique Duo, will be in Tanzania from the 3rd until the 20th of March and will participate in several performances, workshops and jam sessions.
Pandeiro Repique Duo will be touring with the two well-known Tanzanian singers Carola Kinasha and Ashimba. The two Dar es Salaam-based musicians Grant Chamberlain, Australia (saxophone) and Jakob Poll, Denmark (keyboard & sound effects) will join the quartet at stage.
A fantastic original blend of music and culture from four continents, Tanzanian songwriting tradition, Brazilian percussion tradition, the more jazzy horns and a contemporary electronic sound…
This will be the first time ever Carola Kinasha and Ashimba are performing together. The show will also contain a part where Pandeiro Repique Duo are performing alone to show what they are able to get out of “just” two drums.
Maisha Music is now doing the last preparations of the tour, which will bring the group to Dar es Salaam, Bagamoyo, Zanzibar and Arusha.
