TODAY, Barclays Bank Tanzania saw off seven members of its football club who will be off to England to participate in the Barclays Premier League Global 5-a-side.

It is a one-day event with teams from various countries where Barclays operates. Five teams from five countries in Africa have been selected to partake in this event, Tanzania being one of them. Other countries are Botswana, Ghana, Kenya and Uganda.

Stamford Bridge, home of Barclays Premier League team Chelsea Football Club – the winner of this year’s Barclays Premier League.

This is an annual event for Barclays whereby the Bank invites in-house football teams within the Barclays to go and have a ‘feel’ of the Barclays Premier League at the home of the Barclays Premier League Champions.

This year, the event is at Stamford Bridge, the home of Chelsea Football Club. 13 countries in total, are participating in this great event and it is held every year at the end of the Season.

This tour also presents staff of Barclays from all over the world to interact with colleagues from other countries in the celebration of the great football sponsorship that Barclays has, the Barclays Premier League.
