ADMISSION TO PRE-UNIVERSITY ENTRY PROGRAMME 2010
OFFERED BY THE STATE UNIVERSITY OF ZANZIBAR
1.0 Preamble
1.1 The State University of Zanzibar (SUZA) invites prospective
applicants to apply for admission to pre-university entry
programme tenable at SUZA. The programme duration is 12
weeks; thereafter the qualified candidates will be enrolled to
undertake a Bachelor of Science with Education course at the State
University of Zanzibar.
2.0 Entry Requirements
2.1 The applicant should possess an Advanced Certificate of
Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) with not less than 2.0
points. The applicant should also possess at least one principal pass
and one subsidiary pass in his/her subjects of combination.
2.1.1 The applicant should as well possess a Certificate of
Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with not less than
three (3) passes of not below ‘C’ credit in relevant subjects
(Science subjects).

3.0 Subject combination available
i. Chemistry/Biology
ii. Chemistry/Mathematics
iii. Chemistry/Physics
iv. Biology/Geography
v. Physics/Mathematics
4.0 Scale
4.1 Passes in ACSEE are based in the following scale:-
A = 5; B = 4; C = 3; D = 2; E = 1; S = 1; F = 0
5.0 Mode of Application
5.1 Application forms are obtained from the Bursar’s Office of the State
University of Zanzibar (SUZA) - Vuga campus and SUZA Office in
the Building of the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training,
Chake Chake - Pemba.
5.1.1 A non-refundable application fee of Tsh. 20,000/- is to be paid
instantly through the Peoples’ Bank of Zanzibar (PBZ) Limited
University’s Account Number 021103000490, swift code: PBZA
TZ TZ and the original slip to be presented to the Bursar’s office –
SUZA for the issuance of official receipt and application forms.
5.1.2 Application forms can also be downloaded from the website
www.suza.ac.tz, these will only be considered if accompanied by the
payment receipt for the above mentioned fee on return.
6.0 Closing Date
6.1 The closing date for receiving application forms is Friday 22nd May,
2010 at 1500 hours. Late application forms will not be considered.
7.0 Caution
7.1 Submission of forged certificates/testimonials or any other false
information is unlawful and will be handled according to the law.
