President Kikwete sends Condolence Message to Cuban President

H.E. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, President of the United Republic of Tanzania,  has sent a condolence message to H.E. Raul Castro, President of the Republic of Cuba following the untimely death of the late H.E. General Julio Casas Regueiro, Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba,Vice-President of the Council of State and Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba.

In his message, President Kikwete said he received with great shock and dismay the news about passing away of H.E. General Julio Casas Regueiro.

“At this moment of national mourning, allow me to take this opportunity on behalf of the Government and people of the United Republic of Tanzania and indeed on my own behalf to express our most heartfelt condolences to you and through you to the Government and people of Cuba” President Kikwete said in his message.

He further noted that, H.E. General Julio Casas Regueiro will be remembered not only for his great contribution towards Cuba’s independence and International peace, but also for his political vision and solidarity with developing countries.

“May the almighty God rest his soul in eternal peace and grant patience and strength to the bereaved family” the President said.
