DICOTA is DIASPORA COUNCIL OF TANZANIANS IN AMERICA, as Tanzanian lived in US we are all part of this Diaspora. For any Tanzanian who wants to be proactive in participating and get involved the door was open via the DACOTA committee and our embassy.
The DICOTA committee and our ambassador have been open for advice, ideas, concern and criticism with one goal of having a successful celebration of 50 years of our Independence and put our country on the map and earn the recognition and respect it deserved, it was our responsibility as Tanzanians to participate fully and make our voice heard by giving our ideas to either Tanzania embassy in DC or DICOTA committee, there is a website
http://www.dicotaus.org/, the site includes phone numbers and email address that anyone can
call for question, ideas or concern.

This is the first time for Tanzanian live in US hosting a big event of this
caliber here in US, before we start criticizing we will need give prompt and thumbs up to our
ambassador and everyone who take their time from their busy schedule to put this event
together as we always know, all these Tanzanian’s have their Jobs and families who matter the
most to them and which supposed to be given the first priority but they decide to volunteer
and putting together this event for the love of their country.

We are so lucky to have an ambassador who believes in open door policy, who
allows media such as blogs and Radio to interview her and spread her message of unity to
Tanzanian lives in US, Tanzania and all over the world, so we need to appreciate what she is
doing and support her effort of putting all Tanzanians in US together as
one.

The ambassador put a video clip in one of the blog (vijimabo) that pledge to
Tanzanian with talent, knowledge or business to register to the embassy so they will be first
to be considered in case of anything comes up that match with their talent, business or
professionalism and she clearly stated this event is for all Tanzanians, so if artists based
in US were registered they will be given the first priority based on their qualification. We
don’t need to criticize if we did not participate we need to be the part of the solution not
part of the problem.

In my opinion by saying Leadership of DICOTA should meet and exceed minimum
qualifications by frequently visiting the country to update their knowledge rather than
depending on Michuzi and other blogs is disrespectful to Michuzi and other bloggers who we
don’t pay them a penny to broadcast the news, events and daily update of what happen at home
and around the world these blogs connect Tanzanians reside in abroad and homeland more than
anything we can ever imagine, we don’t have Tanzanian Radio or TV in US but blogs is the
easiest and most efficient way to communicate, networking and know what’s going on in
Tanzania, around the world and the issue concerning Tanzanian both abroad and homeland, we
can both remember not long time ago to receive update news from Tanzanian was very difficult,
thanks to blogs now we receive update news from Tanzania and Tanzanian communities from around
the world via blog sometimes quicker than people in Tanzania, we need to thank them for
keep us knowledgeable and informed, we need to thank the DACOTA committee these Tanzanians
take their time that they could spend with their families or work to volunteer for the love
of their country and to our ambassador who worked hard to bring Tanzanian together as one big
community. I thing they deserve an apology for that comment.

50 year of Tanzanian independence is not celebrated only by young people
(bongoflava generation) we need to remember there are people who fought for our independence
50 years ago, some of them are here in US and we are here today because of their brave, effort
, love and contribution to our country, I don’t think if there is a problem for them to
remember their time by listening to Kilimanjaro band, modern Taarab or King kiki (old is
gold), This will be an appreciation from young generation to old generation to makes them know
that we care, appreciate and value their contribution to our country. I believe those 3
groups will not be the only one that performs during this event; there will be young groups
and children.

Even though in 21st century the world is moving in a very fast economic and
social pace the foundation of this success is based on groundwork built by our forefather. We
hear a lot of quotes in USA from Ibrahim Lincoln, George Washington and many more because
they value their contribution to their nation. Together we can make a difference. God Bless

what???? huyu aliyeandika hii anawakilisha Dicota au yuko Mpanda ana-access blog?
ReplyDeleteC'mon c'mon jamani unasema nini? unaandika mistari 20 bila koma, bila nukta. Sio kwamba tuna-criticize for the sake of it ila this is one of the very poor response have read in looong time.
Kwanini usiandike kiswahili kama huwezi kupanga vizuri kingereza chako?? u don't have kurazimisha english.
I hope Mithupu utanibania ila this fella need to back to school and start over his/her english classes..cmon
Anonymous, hapo juu wewe ndio unahita darasa 101. Haujui Kiswahili pia English. "Kurazimisha" ndio nini? "... this fella need to back to school..."
ReplyDeleteMdau wa mwanzo, mimi niliposoma nilihisi hiyo ndio lugha ya kiswaenglish ya pande za huko marekani.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous wa pili kwa vile umesema mdau wa kwanza hajui english labda basi ututafsirie sentensi yako hii "this fella need to back to school" . Jee hiyo ni english ya pande gani?
Andikeni kiswahili jamani!!!!!
I have read the two and found the following key words challenging:
ReplyDeleteIn the lettter by Albino Fulani the word: "discrimination"
In this response from "Mtanzania" the names "Ibrahim Lincoln and George Washington"
Think of these words carefully.....!
God bless Tanzania! (i hope this note will be aired!)
Bora umwambie maana wengine wanaona wao wamemaliza shule. Unajua kusoma hakwishi. Another one: this is one of the very poor response HAVE READ in loong time????????? TUTOKEE HAPA ZILE LERI NA DALASA BADO ZINAEDELEA HALAFU MNASEMA MNAJUA ENGLISH NA KISWAHILI.
ReplyDeleteWho is Ibrahim Lincoln? Duuh!
ReplyDeleteThe issues brought up by Albino fulani deserve serious consideration while the Mtanzania cannot be understood because of his 'broken' english. The suggestion of using Kiswahili is good but then even Kiswahili is also 'broken'. What do we do?
ReplyDeleteWhat I can say here based on what I scooped from both of them, Albino fulani complains of not being included as a young artist in the coming celebration while Mtanzania is mainly basing on protecting our ambassador and DICOTA leadership.
I know that Tanzanian leadership can squander millions on unnecessary celebrations while our community is suffering. We see how the lavishly spend on these celebration without remembering the times we are in and how poorly our we are living. It could be better if the money spent in these 'celebration' be used in doing something tangible to our community back home.
If it was me who is organizing this, I could call probably one band and the rest of the money do something for the community like buy hospital beds for children or Mothers at Muhimbili or do something for our schools. (I know I will be criticized by these suggestions). by so doing, I will have celebrated but left something useful and physical to be used by the community that will ease our already very hard life back home.
I could say much but it is all over, what people think is only booze, we have become so selfish we have lost our identity as Tanzanians. The I, me and myself is in everything we do. We don't care even for our children.
God remember Tanzania and forgive us.
Dah kama ndo hivi, basi hii ni hatari I dont know verbal or written english, but what i have seen above is real amazing, very terrible indeed full magumashi
ReplyDeleteWatanzania,
ReplyDeleteInafika wakati sasa tubadilike.
Mdau, UK.
Mr. Mayor English haiandikwi kwa kutafsiri kiswahili to English it gotta be a flow of english Vs English however, the form of your writting needs to be improved through academic success. Thesis and conclusion is awful and loosing the whole point that what are you real trying to respond to as your heading states.I. have a piece of advise to you that Is not too late to get back to school cause the late registration is still under way at Strayer University
