Applications are invited from qualified candidates wishing to pursue Master of Engineering Management (MEM), Postgraduate Diploma in Engineering Management (PGDEM) and Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) under UDSM Distance E-learning Programme mode for the 2012/2013 academic year due to start in 24^th September 2012.

1.       Entry Requirements for Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE Online -1 year Programme)

Bachelor degree in any field apart from education from a recognized Institution or University.

2.       Entry Requirements for Postgraduate Diploma Engineering Management (PGDEM Online -1 year Programme)

Advanced Diploma or equivalent, in Engineering or related fields from a recognized Institution OR a Pass degree in Engineering/Applied Sciences from a recognized University.

3.       Entry Requirements for Master of  Engineering Management (MEM Online -2 years Programme)

Minimum lower second class Bachelor of Science degree in a corresponding field of Engineering from University of Dar es Salaam or any other recognized institution. The Admission Board will also consider applicants with any other equivalent qualification not mentioned above subject to the Senate approval

4.       Fee Structure

For PGDEM and PGDE the fee is TZS 1,647,500 and US $2,449 for local students (Tanzanians, East African and students from SADC countries) and foreign students respectively and for MEM is TZS 1,577,500 for first year and TZS 1,752,500 for second year for local students. For foreign students it is at US $2,446 and  US $3,374 for first year and second year respectively

5.       Delivery Mode

These are Distance Mode Online Programmes with few face to face sessions that will be conducted at the University Main campus and at the University Computing Centres (Mwanza and Arusha branch). Furthermore students will access all learning materials and have online discussions with their lecturers through the Learning Management System (LMS). Students may access the Learning System anywhere where there is Internet connection or at UCC (Mwanza or Arusha Branch) during week days from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm.

6.       Application forms

Application forms can be obtained from the Centre for Virtual Learning office located at University of Dar Es Salaam Main Campus, UDSM website: www.udsm.ac.tz or cvl.udsm.ac.tz. University Computing Center (UCC)- Mwanza and Arusha Centre. A non-refundable application fees of Tsh. 20,000/= for Tanzania and  US $ 20 for Non Tanzanians must be deposited into the Centre for Virtual Learning NBC Bank Account number 040103002088 (Mlimani branch) and original pay-in slip submitted together with the application form.

The deadline for receiving application forms is strictly at 4:00pm on 15^th August 2012
