On 25th September 2012 in Iringa Region, Ambassador Alfonso E. Lenhardt addresses a gathering at the launch of the “Back to Care” Campaign sponsored by the American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and TUNAJALI II. Since 2003, the American People through the U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) have spent two billion USD combating HIV/AIDS in Tanzania. This support has been especially important in Iringa - where the HIV prevalence is estimated to be three times the national average and the highest in the country.
