Japan hands over Maternity and Surgical wing to Moyo Safi wa Maria Health centre in Dar es salaam

On 18th December, 2013, the Handing Over Ceremony for “The Project for Expansion of Moyo Safi wa Maria Health Centre in Kinondoni Municipality, Dar es Salaam Region” was held at Moyo Safi wa Maria Health Centre. 

The Government of Japan, in response to the request by Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Missionary Society Tanzania, extended a grant aid of US dollars 172,592 for the project in the Japanese Fiscal Year 2012, under the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGHSP). 

The Handing Over Ceremony was attended by: H.E. Masaki Okada - Ambassador of Japan to the United Republic of Tanzania H.E. Francisco Monticello Padilla - Apostolic Nuncio to the United Republic of Tanzania 

The Government of Japan has been extending support to local communities in various sectors including health, education and water supply under the GGHSP scheme since 1991.
