Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC) Executive Director, Juliet Kairuki, extended her congratulations to Regional Commissioners belonging to the lake zone for their efforts to convene the first lake zone investment forum.
Speaking from Mwanza, she advised that The Regional Commissioners have created their own dedicated Secretariat to convene the investment forum which will occur from 13-15th February 2014.
The regions covered in the lake zone are Mwanza, Geita, Shinyanga, Simiyu, Kagera, and Mara. The forum will bring will bring together Government and investors to appreciate the investment opportunities that are available in the zone as well as the measures being taken by the regional authorities and related agencies to facilitate investments into the region.
Central to TIC's participation in the forum is its determination to work closely with Regional Commissioners officers to enable more efficient investor servicing in the regions.
TIC and the Regional Commissioners have agreed to work together to fast track and streamline the process of identifying land for investment that can be placed in the TIC land back as well as to deliver education to communities and laws, rules, and procedures to be followed when engaging investors on land and other investment related matters.
TIC will also work with Regional Administrative Secretaries offices to build their capacity to facilitate investors more effectively.

Developments in some regions had stalled for a longtime we want to see new investments coming up and the local people taking initiatives to invest in agri business, in real estate, banks, big enterprises, in transport etc.
