The Embassy of
Tanzania in Moscow is celebrating 50 years of the Union of Tanganyika and
Zanzibar, which created the United Republic of Tanzania on 26th April 2014 at
the Conference Center of the Swissotel in Moscow.
In this "TANZANIA DAY”, the Embassy is organizing an exhibition of
Tanzania trade and tourism products as well as investment opportunities,
fashion show and cultural events, with participation of Tanzania and Russian
stakeholders. The Guest of Honor will be Hon. Maria Bilia, Deputy Permanent
Secretary, Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The celebration will
be a one-day event as follows:
1. Day program; (11.00 to 17.30 Hrs): Exhibitions of Tanzania products, tourism, investment opportunities, and exhibition of Tanzania art products, seminars on Tourism, Trade and Investment and business meetings. Tanzania products will be exhibited by the
following companies: Kagera Tea Company, Chai Bora, Afri Coffee and Tea,
Tanzania Distillers, KLD Coffee (a number one Importer of Tanzania coffee to
Russia and CIS), Tanzania Handicraft Association, World Trend Project and Masai
Shuka, Kilimanjaro NatureRipe, Colvima Enterprises, Tanzania Agricultural
Business Company Ltd and Agusta Tecoshel.
Tanganyika Wildlife Safaris, Moyo Africa Exlorations, Itravel and Tourboss
will display Tanzania tourism products. Turky Group of Companies, Zakharia
Group of Companies and Conte Africa will participate in business meetings.
The Tanzania Embassy will distribute, make presentations and seminars
concerning Investment, Tourism and Trade promotion materials throughout the
day.
KLD Coffee Importers, the largest importers of Tanzania green coffee to
Russia and CIS, will organize testing of Tanzania coffee to all visitors throughout
the day.
2. Evening Program (18.00 to 22.00 Hrs ):
The highlight of the Evening
Program is the Key Note address
by the Hon. Maria Bilia, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Industry and Trade, to be preceded by Opening remarks from Mr. Julius Mjemah, Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of
Tanzania and a Speech by a representative from Russian Government. The Tanzania Embassy will also deliver a
short presentation of Tanzania Investment, Tourism and Trade opportunities to
be followed by perspectives from CEOs of FBME Bank, KLD Coffee Importers and
Tourboss companies. Furthermore, KLD coffee will provide 500 grams of roasted
Tanzanian beans coffee as gift to
each guest at the evening event. Kagera Tea Company will do the same for
Tanzanian tea.
The evening program will be decorated by a grand Fashion Show by Tanzania
designers led by Mr. Mustafa Hassanali, a renowned Tanzania fashion guru.
Other internationally recognized designers in the event include Ms. Fatmah
Naeem and Innocentia Sabas. Their fashion collections will be presented by 13
top Tanzania and Russian models, including three Miss “Universal Tanzanias” for
2011,2012 and 2013, namely Nelly Amas, Winfrida Michael and Betty Omara.
Among the invitees, who have confirmed participating at the Tanzania Day,
includes some of the largest Russian companies and associations namely AFK
Sistema, Thermex Group, Crocus Group, Belaya Dacha, Russian Grain Association
and Russian Tea and Coffee Association.
