Hundreds of Kinondoni residents were last Friday treated to a memorable post paid electricity bill payment ‘extravaganza’ by lead electronic payment service provider MaxMalipo when Tanzania’s electricity utility company TANESCO launched the first phase of its customer reach out electronic bill payment service at the expansive Dar es Salaam sub region.
Using the MaxMalipo PoS, the ever present MaxMalipo agents bounced into action, serving the mammoth customers who flocked the Magomeni Tanesco Grounds to share in the celebrative launch. At least 1001 customers were reached most of who rose to the occasion to pay for their post paid electricity bills.
Hassan Abdul, a post paid electricity customer who lives in Kinondoni was overwhelmed with how easy it was paying for his electricity bill through MaxMalipo when he said: “It was particularly amazing to be issued with a receipt as prove of the transaction. However, I must say it is extremely suitable for us given the immense presence of MaxMalipo in this area.”
While gracing the historic launch, Tanesco Managing Director Felchesmi Mramba, urged Dar es Salaam residents in the entirety to embrace the opportunity and pay for Tanesco bills at electronic payment service shops across the country, singling out Maxmalipo’s extensive network as a more convenient choice.
He reiterated on the fact that the high presence of Maxmalipo agents in anyone’s vicinity has made it easy for Tanesco customers to pay for electricity bills nearer to their homes.
Mr. Mramba said: “Today, we are proud to have successfully launched the first phase of electronic bill payment for our post paid customers. As we celebrate this important milestone, I would like to invite Kinondoni residents and the people of Dar es Salaam to embrace this opportunity. Electronic payment agents like Maxmalipo are all over and we can easily and conveniently pay for our post paid electricity bills anywhere anytime.”
And Eng. Juma Rajabu, the Maxcom Africa Managing Director echoed Mr. Mramba’s sentiments saying Maxmalipo was committed to taking electronic bill payment services closer to Tanzanians.
Eng. Juma said: “Since inception in April 2010, we have been inspired by the desire to make electronic bill payments much easier and more accessible to customers. We are particularly happy to have been associated with Tanesco in killing the once agonizing queue. On behalf of our esteemed clients, we are basically motivated to ensuring electronic bill payment service reaches the consumers in the most convenient way.”
