Until the recent past, the recounts of most Tanzanians in the Diaspora had been filled with horrific and disappointing experiences regarding mismanagement of funds and investment attempts back home in Tanzania. Most Diasporas entrusted their projects and investments back home to their immediate relations, which, more often than not, led to devastating consequences. Some Diasporas even fear the thought of returning home with little to show for their stay abroad.
The question that lingered in most of us was, is there a permanent solution to this problem?
The solution is found
In 2012, Tanzania Diaspora Initiative (TDI) was formed. In many ways, this is a response to the needs and concerns of all Tanzanians in the Diaspora. Whether you need to invest, buy land, start a business, follow up on projects, and even get current updates on the information on all of the above, TDI acts as a hub to cater for all your needs.
Born out of real passion to cater for the needs of Tanzanians in the Diaspora and provide permanent solutions to the series of diaspora related problems and concerns, Tanzania Diaspora Initiative goes further to provide a platform where information can be easily obtained, shared and help in making important decisions about investments and contributing to the wellbeing of the communities back home.
TDI understands that diaspora is part of Tanzania that has a potential role to play in fast-tracking the country’s economy through various areas such as dividends, investments, expertise and many other areas. However, if these areas aren't fully exploited for the benefits of our economy, Tanzania loses a lot in that front.
What is TDI?
TDI is a solution to the Professional needs of the Tanzanians in the diaspora. They key issue is to help bridge the gap between the professional needs of the Diaspora and their actual projects back home. This is what Diaspora need to have a peace of mind in ensuring their investments, projects or businesses are running smoothly while they are continuing with their lives abroad. In other words, TDI helps to save money and time for Diasporas while it handles all the issues locally with qualified professionals in their fields.
In order for any project or investment to run smoothly, there is a need of professional involvements. TDI shares the pride of having qualified professionals with a lot of experiences in their respective fields capable of catering for the needs of the Diasporas.
The aggregate skills within TDI and at the disposal of Tanzanians in the diaspora include project management, property management, Job opportunities. Investment opportunities, inspection of works and provision of professional reports, estate agency, land-use advise, document processing and management including title deeds, planning permission, and many other tailor-made solutions.
How you benefit from TDI
As TDI works locally in Tanzania, it ensures a strong link to communicate the latest information to the Diasporas from the core sources in Tanzania. These information can be on investments, some changes in rules and regulations, or any interesting information that could be of use for the people who are looking to invest and contribute back to their local communities. These kinds of information are communicated to all valid registered members with the TDI. You can have that chance by simply registering to the TDI and ensure you do not get left out from the important potential information concerning investments or opportunities back home.

Dear anonymous October 30,2014
ReplyDeleteAsante kwa swali lako.
Naomba nifafanue hili swala kidogo.

You have a good intention and you are human....you will interact with the good and bad on lets say as an example on my behalf. Incidentally similar or exactly the same way my relatives did. So than, and this crucial how or processes do you have in place that ensure me that a) you or your company will not be duped by the greedy people lurking out there at all levels ? B) what guarantee do I have that will make my decide what to trust you or your company? If something where to go wrong like let us say the land ownership suddenly changed on your watch, how would you ensure you can return it to me ? In other words, do you have legal and financial guarantees? There are too many loop holes and unless you can address those specific loop holes to present us with a semblance of a peace of mind, I am not sure you have convinced me to venture my trust in you. You can however explain yourself to address some of our legitimate concerns.
ReplyDeleteDear Anonymous 30 October 2014,
ReplyDeleteThanks for raising your concerns. You have to understand that we are a legal entity created to serve the needs of the diasporans. In other words, we are professionals who abide by the laws and take our métier very seriously. The way you work with companies are completely different from individuals (or relatives). You sign contracts with companies, and both clients and service provides have to abide by it, there are no dirty tricks to play here.
We aim to exist for a very long time, thus we want to serve and satisfy clients, who in turn should become a part of us in spreading the good words. Our goal is to bridge the gap between the two societies (Home and Diaspora) as if they coexisted in the same place. Projects or investments can be done seamlessly, as if one was present in Tanzania.
I assure you, there are no loopholes, you have to find out more about us to understand what we aim at accomplishing for the Tanzanian community in the diaspora. It's something big and welcomed. We have already started our journey, we will get there soon.
In my understanding, you need more clarification in this case. We have all the information you need on our website -http://www.tanzaniadiaspora.org, you can go through the articles, and see what our goals and visions are. You can also write us on our email to give more clarification on this issue.
Thanks for taking time to.respond to my concerns. On one hand I want to trust you will deliver a mutually beneficial service to all, on the other hand, I am unable to just throw caution to the wind....I have seen to many suffer for trying to help,as kujijenga which results in helping the country as a whole. As peoples of one country there have been some deplorable acts resulting in people like myself becoming doubting Thomases......its not easy to trust especially since so much around the country has contionusly and systematically let us down. I pray that this company will truly walk the talk, as this is a much needed service. Time will tell, if you survive the test of time and credibility many of us will be thanking you. Asante.
