The delegation from the China National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) will be visiting Tanzania from 13 - 15 October, 2014. The delegation will be led by Mr. Wang Jianjun, the Deputy Director General of the Department of Foreign Fund and Investment.
The visit is the follow –up of the official visit to Africa by the Chinese Prime Minister H.E. Mr. Li Keqiang in May, 2014. During his visit, he made proposals for further collaboration with African countries on the infrastructure (such as railway, highway, aviation etc) and industrial development.
During the visit in Tanzania, the delegation will have meeting with Senior Government Officials from various ministries and institutions on 13th October, 2014. The meeting has been coordinated by the President’s Office, Planning Commission and will include representatives from the Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Energy and Minerals, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Works, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Export Processing Zone Authority, National Development Cooperation, and Presidential Delivery Bureau.
During the meeting the delegates will get briefing on the state of the economy, national priorities, status, policies, and potential areas for support/ cooperation on transport infrastructure, manufacturing, energy and mining. The meeting will also cover issues of business and investment environment in Tanzania and Export Processing Zones/Special Economic Zone.
The delegation will leave on 15th October, 2014.
