The Tanzania Minister for East African Cooperation Hon. Dr. Harrison G. Mwakyembe today held bilateral discussions with his Counterpart Hon. Ambassador Valentine Rugwabiza, Minister for East African Community from Rwanda, on the sideline of the on going Extra-Ordinary Meeting of the EAC Council of Ministers taking place in Dar es Salaam.
The two Ministers held fruitful discussions on measures to further boost bilateral trade relations between the two Countries.
The Ministers resolved to work closely in tackling specific impediments that affect traders from the two Countries.
Sixty (60) percent of cargo imported into Rwanda pass through the Port of Dar es Salaam because it is currently more efficient and the distance is shorter compared to the distance from Mombasa Port to Kigali.
The Meeting was also attended by Tanzanian Ambassador to Rwanda Hon. Ali Siwa and Rwandan Ambassador to Tanzania Hon. Eugene Segore Kayihura.
