Tanzania’s
leading telecommunication service provider Vodacom has been named as
the best employer in Africa and Tanzania for the 3rd time in a row by
global company Top employer Institute. Top Employer Institute is a
global certification company recognizing excellence in the conditions
that employers create for their people.
The Global Top employer institute, now in its 25th year conducts in-depth assessment to identify top employers in the world who meet set criteria which include best HR practices. Vodacom Tanzania PLC has been certified as a 2019 Top Employer after leading the way in outstanding ‘people-first’ HR practices and qualified as one of the successful organisations.
A statement from the company signed by Human Resources Director Perece Kirigiti detailed that the exciting achievement was officially announced last week as a result of global research and subsequent certification of only the very best employers worldwide.
She hinted that as a proud Top Employer 2019, Vodacom’s practices were assessed through the analysis of 100 questions which covered 600 people practices across 10 Human Resources topics including but not limited to Talent Strategy, On-boarding, Learning & Development and Compensation & Benefits. The Top Employers Institute Programme provides organisations with the ability to leverage employer branding, benchmark practices against other top performers and globally align policies.
Kirigiti concluded that the award means a lot to Vodacom saying “As a certified Top Employer 2019, we have the honour of showcasing our Certification seal with pride for the upcoming year. This seal serves as a reminder that we are a part of a global community of forward-thinking organisations that continue to strive for only the best people practices, and this seal further cements our commitment to optimizing and improving our business performance.”
