The Tanzania Commercial Bank (TCB) is again footing the bill for the annual gathering of board chairpersons and chief executives from public bodies, signing on as principal sponsor for the third year in a row.
The event, hosted by the Office of the Treasury Registrar, will take place in Arusha from 28 to 30 September.
TCB Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Adam Charles Mihayo confirmed the support today, 9 September 2026, at a breakfast briefing with news editors at the Hyatt Kilimanjaro in Dar es Salaam.
The bank, he said, is “honoured to participate in the important gathering and proud to serve as its principal sponsor for the third consecutive time.”
He added, “We greatly appreciate the honour extended to us by the Office of the Treasury Registrar to participate in this important meeting.”
For Mihayo, the forum is no mere ceremony. Over three days, leaders from public institutions and corporations will swap experiences, audit their own performance, and hunt for workable ways to improve service delivery and deepen their contribution to national development.
He also pulled the media into that mission.
When coverage is steady and clear, he said, Tanzanians can track the work of the Treasury Registrar and the bodies it oversees. “Better public understanding keeps those institutions moving toward greater transparency and accountability”, he added.
TCB’s lineage reaches back to 1925, when it opened as the Tanganyika Post Office Savings Bank.
Today it is a full commercial bank, the government holding the majority stake, with other public institutions owning the rest.
The bank offers retail, SME, corporate, treasury, and digital banking, and says its focus remains on innovative financial solutions and wider financial inclusion.
Renewing the sponsorship, the TCB chief adds, is one part of its broader promise to back efforts that strengthen public institutions and push Tanzania’s development agenda forward.
