Capital Promotions is organising a day-long sports and entertainment gala for higher learning institutions on October 20, 2007 at the University of Dar es Salaam sports grounds. The event will start at 9am and end at 6:30pm.
No entrance fees are charged for the event, whose aim is to bringing together students from higher learning institutions to socialize through sports and entertainment. It also aims to welcome back continuing students as well as freshers.
The students will compete in the following games:
1: Seven-a-side soccer (only ten players required per team).
2: Tug-of-war (only five players/participants required per team)
3: 50-metre flat race (only two runners-man/boy and woman/girl per each team).
4: 50-metre sack race only two runners-man/boy and woman/girl per each team).
5: Dancing competition (one dancer per each team/institution (whether a man or woman)
6: Singing competition (one singer per each team/institution (whether a man or woman)
7: Funniest dressed man
8: Funniest dressed woman
NOTE: Prizes for number 1-6 will be awarded to the institution the winner is coming from, say IJMC, COET, IFM etc instead of the individual.
However, prizes for number 7-8 will be awarded to the individual winners, not their institutions. Programme (flow of events) plan for the event has been attached.
Various prizes ranging from cash, trophies, token awards such as T-Shirts, caps and key holders will be dished out to the winning teams and individuals.
