Southern Africa Human Rights NGO Network (SAHRiNGON) Tanzania Chapter is a network organization for human rights and social development issues registered and operating in Tanzania and within SADC member states. SAHRiNGON seeks qualified candidates to be employed in the following positions.
NATIONAL COORDINATOR
A competent person in human rights issues willing to work with human rights organizations.
SPECIFIC ROLES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Overall in charge of the SAHRiNGON secretariat.
Perform overall coordination, management,
implementation and reporting functions for the organization.
Ensure completion of all programs and activities within their
pre-planned completion dates.
Facilitate networking and collective actions among
SAHRiNGON member organizations.
In-charge of public relations, interacting with donor organizations, government agencies and the public at large.
Ability to mobilize funds for implementation of SAHRiNGON planned programmes.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS and PROFESSINAL ATTRIBUTES:
The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications:
Education background in Law or Social science issues.
Sound understanding of changes/development in social
economic issues
Fluency in both oral and written Kiswahili and English
2: ACCOUNTANT:
The Accountant will be responsible to oversee all financial maters of SAHRiNGON. He/She will work in close collaboration with other staff
in management of funds.
The Accountant will be advising the Board and the National Coordinator on all matters pertaining to accounting and financial aspects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Improving financial support services which enhance SAHRiNGON ability to implement its activities.
To oversee the SAHRiNGON planning process and budget preparation.
Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submission of financial reports.
Proper books of accounts are maintained and kept fully up to date.
Accounting controls and procedures are applied and up-dated from time to time.
Advice the Board and management on fundraising strategies.
Improve and /or develop appropriate financial guidelines and advice the Board for their approval.
to ensure that at all time the SAHRiNGON has enough funds to implement its activities.
Implement any other duties assigned by the Board and the National Coordinator.
QUALIFICATIONS
CPA, Degree in accountancy or Advanced Diploma in Accountancy with not less than three years experience.
JOB SKILL SPECIFICATIONS
Ability to perform accounting and financial responsibilities with minimum supervision.
Experience with accounting for NGOs or donor funded projects will be an added advantage.
